And I will love until there’s nothing more to live for

I don’t know whether our radio stations played ‘This Is The Life’ by Amy Macdonald. May well be they didn’t. But they’re playing ‘Mr. Rock & Roll’ now - and upon hearing it I immediately went out to buy the CD. I’m in love with each and every one of the 10 songs on it - yes, 10… once again our edition is lacking one song from the original UK edition aargh.

Apart from listening to that CD for about 1000 times since last Wednesday, I’ve also been very busy with RL and of course my sites. I’ve made a list of my priorities with them. However, there’s always new stuff coming in throwing me off track. But oh well… I’ve at least managed to more or less keep up the motivation to care for all of them. However, I’m becoming more and more unsure of whether I should finish the upcoming tribute pages… I’d say let’s wait & see lol

Also, in view of recent totally out of place and unfair news coverage for Marion Cotillard - and also to congratulate her on her big awards wins (Golden Globe, BAFTA, César and Oscar, not to speak of all the critics awards and nominations) the users of marion-cotillard.org have decided to leave short messages of support in the site’s forum - I will include them in a letter and send it off the old-fashioned way via regular mail to, I guess, the production office of ‘Public Enemies’. If any of you are admirers of her work as an actress please consider adding your message here till Wednesday. I’ll send off the letter on Thursday.

I’m feeling very groggy today. Yesterday my boss gave me a small pill - I was having such terrible headache. Then, half an hour later I had one of the worst allergic reaction I ever had. Well, I then remembered a very similar (if not slightly worse) incident about 3 years ago that also happened after I took a painkiller pill from a brand I never used before. However, at the time the doctor put it all down to hayfever. Anyway, my boss had to drive me to the doctor’s yesterday and they took me in as an emergency :( I will now have to go to the big university hospital to let them find out what exactly is causing these reactions :( Already looking forward to the looong waits there. I’ve only heard rather bad stories…

Enjoying the Sun

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 | Personal, Sites | No Comments

We’ve been having some fantastic weather for the longest time. Clear blue sky and sunshine - but it’s freezing cold. Anyway, it’s doing wonders for the mood. On the other hand, the extremely dry air has lead to serious Fine Particulate Matter. For 10 days now it’s been extremely high: 95 (up to 50 is ‘normal’).  I’ve found this comment for levels between 50-99: “People with respiratory disease should limit prolonged exertion”. I suffer from something one could call allergy-induced asthma and only show sypmtoms when fine particular matter levels are high, as they are now - or pollen are in the air. Which of course they are currently as well - the warm weather in January has led to some early blooming. So additionally, my eyes & nose are all itchy. Still, I enjoy going out and do some walking - but I’m paying the price in the evening after moderate exercise or right after some heavier excercise (such as walking up a hill). Coughing, coughing, coughing… Maybe I should add that what I consider exercise other people would never dream of calling that. It’s just regular walking around town. I think I’ll have to ask the doctor for new medicine.

Site wise: I’ve managed to get a ton of scanning done for the Marion site. I’ve finished adding all the portrait sessions I have and am about 2 thirds through adding video clips & screencaps of recent interviews and public appearances. I intend on finishing all of that before the César & Oscar awards this weekend.

My computer, while still working, has recently been behaving weird. So I’m doing much of the capping, encoding & scanning off-line and when I do go online I’m not running MSN. So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been that’s what happened. I’m mostly on Gmail - so you could send me chat messages on there. Or email me. I’m currently much better at maintaining email correspondance than I usually am. Oh, and if you’re having problems reaching me at my domain emails (sophiamyles.org, seethesun.org, marion-cotillard.org) please let me know. It’d help sorting out the problem if I can be sure that there really is one.

Ashes 2 Ashes

In reference to the post title.

Honestly, I don’t know how I should manage with everything! Marion is everywhere right now - but in a good way, I think, more like subtly everywhere - which is absolutely lovely because there’s all this fantastic coverage. It’s just trying to find all the various pics and especially digging up videos is so time-consuming…

I still need to finish the Projects section on the Sophia website, it’s coming along great, and in my opionion it will be a great information source, but, again, it is a time-consuming task. I still need to finish writing the transcript of the Fan Q&A, as well as the re-write of the biography and re-add all the affiliates.

Even though, I’ve decided to keep Catalina I have not once worked on it this year - shame on me - but am reluctant to talk to 2 people who asked to help out/take over the site. Don’t know what they want really. But I want to continue to be involved, so no fears there, but I sure can use some help.

The upcoming projects - well, I don’t think I should even contemplate them right now. But they might end up as some kind of mini-site or whatever…

I never seem to muster up the necessary motivation to keep working on sites day after day in all my free time - don’t know if that’d be a good idea to start with. So I watched Season 2 of Life on Mars this week. Even though, the way the ending left everything doesn’t clear up all the questions and plot ‘holes’ I love the series. It’s really cool and intelligent. I so envy UK residents who can watch the sequel Ashes to Ashes as of this Thursday. I have a feeling it might be even better. Keeley Hawes? I think she’s great. I think I’ll have to try to find a way to watch this as well.

Oh, and I’ve been watching YouTube videos again… Isn’t this making you fall in love with Moonlight? Watch

Someone please save me

I decided to transfer a complete archive of 310 entries in Cutenews to WordPress. While I knew it’d be tiresome it is absolutely time-consuming, nerve-racking, frustrating, depressing…

I watched the time. Whether I felt I was moving along quickly or the work seemed to drag it always took me about 1 hour to post one page of Cutnews entries (21 items) inWordPress. I believe it’s the checking of links to gallery items and press archive etc that is the most timeconsuming. So far, I’ve managed to finish 157 posts - which means I’ve been at this mind-numbing task for about 7,5 hours. Unless I somehow miraculously become faster at this it will take me another good 7 hours…. *screaming*

If only I were done after that…. I see that my deadline for tomorrow evening is once again impossible to keep. I somehow keep setting myself unreachable goals - no wonder I have a serious lack of sleep and am rather depressed. But I’m sure it’s just a temporary thing…

I need to call someone important tonight - I mustn’t forget. Why o why does there have to be such huge differences in time zones? It makes for very small time windows if you want to call someone…

New ways

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008 | Film, Personal, Sites | No Comments

New ways? I don’t know… I don’t want to announce any big plans for improvement. November 2007 actually was my month of resolutions. I think I’ll just carry on trying to maintain a regular and healthy sleeping and eating habit. Also, I do want to cut down on my internet time. There were some weeks in recent months where I was really good at staying away from the computer - that’s the way to go hehe

Personal life in 2007 has again - what else is new? - been blah. But I’m happy with how things are. So, that’s really good. Site wise I really am still happy with the major re-launch of the Marion site, as well as how the take over of the Catalina site worked out. I will definitely be keeping the site. Right now, I’m doing something special for the Sophia site. I think the site deserves it. I hope I will be able to work on my secret site plan (in the works since summer 07) and the extension of the Emily Mortimer tribute. That’s all the sites I’m going to do - ever! I will not get involved in something new!

I’ve updated the 100 Films list for the new year (see 2007 list) and I was quite surprised how well I liked Becoming Jane on my first re-watch yesterday.
