I am going ahead with opening the tribute page to Matthew MacFadyen’s performances. I surprised myself yesterday when I created the layout (well, more or less) capped his part in Enigma (isn’t that big…) and wrote an extensive story and role synopsis for Enigma. And this will be the main attraction of the site: my own texts about his characters and movies. I don’t want to get ambitious with this site - just create something personal. Visit It is online!

In My Father’s Den

Against my better judgement I re-watched ‘In my Father’s Den’ last night. This isn’t any insult to the movie, on the contrary this is a jewel of a film. But it always leaves me in a melancholic mood. It is really outstanding. It starts ever so slow and simple and before you realize you’re drawn into the deeply mysterious story, moved by its unfoldings and der Boden wird einem unter den Füssen weggezogen. Sorry, I just had so say this in German.

And Matthew MacFadyen is absolutely stellar. Despite all my intentions not to get involved in a new web project I think I’d really like to set up a tribute page for him. Is there anyone interested in helping out? I’m of course always very thankful for help and contribution - but as I decided to make the site more of a personal statement I would rather be the only one ‘on staff’…

Walk the Line

I finally got round to see ‘Walk the Line’ and it is really a well-rounded piece of movie/music. Everything is just perfect and it is also moving. Joaquin Phoenix would have deserved the Oscar as well as Reese. I really didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did. I could have kept on watching for quite some time longer.

I finished watching season 2 of Spooks and decided I need to have season 3 as well. But thanks to Amazon Marketplace I was able to get it for a cheaper prize! Till it arrives, I’ll be watching these extra features…

Wedding

Well, the long-awaited day of my sister’s wedding came and went ever so quickly in the end. It was a beautiful wedding and I enjoyed it very much - but still compared to all the preparations and nerves involved I don’t think I would want such a big event for myself were I ever to marry. What I do envy my sister for is the holiday she’s now enjoying! Ever since Saturday I’m really lacking energy… as if this were news…

Spooks

Spooks - I’m totally addicted. I ordered the first 2 seasons and I have now finished watching season 1 and all its extra features. The series has - although seriously handling a serious topic, terror - sort of an innocent touch to it, which I like. And Keeley Hawes and Matthew MacFadyen certainly make for a superb cast. Need I say more about Matthew?! He’s so great. Also as Mr. Darcy.
