Veer & Zaara

Some friends of mine are all crazy for Bollywood films. I am somewhat intrigued by that culture - but not really. Well, I wanted to know what it was all about and rented 2 movies. One I was really disappointed in and the other slightly better. But definitely I couldn’t get what the fascination is all about. Then this one friend told me ‘Veer & Zaara‘ was her new favourite movie. By reading the synopsis I thought this could really be one of a kind. I bought the DVD and I’m fascinated. The songs are really beautiful (even for ears un-accustomed to Indian music) and the characters fully developed, the story wonderfully romantic and the scenery absolutely breathtaking. This is definitely in the top list of my favourite movies.
Don’t get me wrong though, I still think that Bollywood movies in general are not my cup of tea.
