Amazon

Friday, February 2nd, 2007 | Random | No Comments

I’ve been ordering quite a number of items on various Amazon sites. Mostly from the UK site, but also from France and Amazon.Com. Isn’t it funny how packages from the UK sometimes are being sent out from Germany? Most of the times also the US packages to my home make their way via Germany. So I was quite surprised to see that my last parcel was stamped in Auckland, New Zealand (!)

Packages from the international sites have all the urls to the international Amazon sites printed on the outside of the parcel. However, the US package only has amazon.com. Does that surprise anyone?!

And the 3 packages I got this month (France, UK, US) all were advertising Norah Jones’ new album. Her name was printed on the outside of the parcel. How surreal to have ones name shipped around the world…

Movies to see

Friday, February 2nd, 2007 | Film | No Comments

I’ve been having a look at the scheduled releases in Switzerland. Here’s the movies that I want to see:

La Môme, February 22
I’m not sure I particularly like Edith Piaf and her songs, but I want to see Marion Cotillard in the role of a lifetime.

The Real Life of Angel Deverell, April 12
Romola Garai, need I say more? And she looks absolutely stunning.

Spider-Man 3, May 3
I simply LOVE the Spiderman story (film). However, I’m usually disappointed at how little plot there is in one film, how little the story is being continued….

The Kingdom, May 10
Jennifer Garner, can’t see enough of her!

Atonement, September 27
Keira Knightley in a film by Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice): sounds good to me!

Then there’s the films that have no Swiss release date yet (who’s surprised?) but that I want to see:

Becoming Jane
Jane Austen, Anne Hathaway, Period drama…. This is the film I’m dying to see!! Though there won’t be a happy end I’m quite sure it’ll become one of my most favourite film. In my mind this will be as good as Pride & Prejudice (2005). If it won’t, I’ll be so disappointed! But I can’t help having such high expectations.

Hallam Foe Sophia Myles in a role that might get her great critical success

Outlander Again, Sophia Myles. But also the story of Vikings and aliens sounds good to me. On Set Pictures suggest a believable historic look.

The Nanny Diaries Scarlett Johansson in a role with potential + plus she won’t be playing just the sex symbol

The Other Boleyn Girl Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman: need I say more?!
