I think my more or less quiet days of caring for sites about rather ‘unknown’ artists may somewhat be over… At least for the time being. Being away only 6 days I had rather urgent updates to do on all my sites. Time for the planned extensive ‘background work’ will be short.

Marion Cotillard: She’s certainly having her international ’break-through’ right now. Everybody loves her in La Vie en Rose. I can understand that of course! She’ll be awarded Breakthrough Actress of the Year at the Hollywood Film Festival later this year. I’m proud to say I started the site before the hype started - and have decided to turn it into a ‘complete’ website now. I’ve bought a domain name and am currently working on a new gallery.

Sophia Myles: When I met her last week we both were unaware that she’d be in the news by now. She’s been cast on very short notice as the female lead in CBS new show ‘Moonlight’. This will certainly bring activity to the site as she’ll be getting exposure. My only fear: comments and reviews on the pilot presentation aren’t that good. Well, that was before they had Sophia, so it can only get better. But still, she’s always been rather unfortunate as to how her projects were received critically.

Matthew Macfadyen: He’s starring in a play in London - lots to do to keep up with reviews etc - and had finished Incendiary just before that and will go on to a part in Frost/Nixon - a project with many stellar names attached to it. And there’s Death at a Funeral awaiting theatrical release in many countries. But, I do have a talented co-webbie now, yay! We’re working on a new gallery and server move right now. But then there’ll still be lots of things to do: create a Video Archive, write many, many, many information pages….

Catalina Sandino Moreno: Not that much going on really, but The Hottest State is about to be released. So I need to keep up with things happening.

What I really want to do as well: Turn the Emily Mortimer and Anna Paquin small tribute pages into proper little sites. Give them the air of being complete, even though they will only focus on news & pictures/screencaps. I also have an idea what I want to do with See The Sun. It still doesn’t feel right and I want to have a new design/template and re-structure…

I was unaware of Marion until I stumbled upon your tribute and not only did it give me the inspiration for my own tribute to Paula Patton, It made me aware of her. She has been getting alot of media attention as of late like you said so I have gotten to see some lovely pictorials and interviews on the television. (I wish I had my DVD recorder working so I could have taped them :() but I’m loving what I’m seeing on her so far. I saw ‘A Good Year’ but as cute as she was in it, I wouldn’t call that a film that can make you a ‘fan’. She looks so amazing in ‘La Vie en Rose’ and I want to see that so badly. Even though I have not seen the film and will not until DVD I am touched and moved by the trailer which says alot, and already makes me root for her come award season - I hope she won’t be snubbed, if you can be moved by a 3 minute trailer then that has gotta count for something!

I saw La Vie en Rose today and needless to say, the film is all about Marion and she was nothing short of remarkable! She really carries this picture but despite her performance and the beautiful visuals, I felt La Vie en Rose was rather messy in terms of the structure and much too long. Still def worth seeing for Marion!

I felt the same way about the film Riikka - it’s a shame really. But Marion is great!

The old APF domain is up for grabs again; I’m tempted to nab it to perhaps work on your small tribute site with you. But, I don’t want to get caught up in the “politics” again, like I did last time. Dilemma. :)

Oh, didn’t know about APF - well, it can only get better with a new owner :) I’d be up for working with you, though. But my screencaps are now all horribly tagged - I don’t know what I was thinking…

Ah, the tags aren’t actually that bad as they don’t ‘interfere’ with the picture/screencap. To be honest, I am in 2 minds about working on another Anna site because of what happened last time & because I need to spend less time online, haha. But, saying that, I still adore Anna & I love the new scans you’ve added to the gallery. :) I’d have to work on the content from stratch but at least I could improve on it…
